This is a post about nothing. I wanted to post more regularly, but sadly I don't get out much with school and working full time. My mom came into town last week and we had fun traipsing around logan for a couple days. One of which involved crepes from The Crepery and man were they delicious. They are located inside Citrus and Sage and everyone should go check it out.

In case you didn't know, I've become kinda obsessed with the Colbert Report on comedy central. First of hilarious. and second of all they occasionally have really good entertainers. Thats were I first heard the song on my playlist by Cee-Lo Green. Sorry for the language, but boy is it catchy. He did a duet with Elvis Costello..i think it was last week. and it was really neat so I'm posting a link.

Another funny internet phenomenon is the kid from the rape news story. I first watched this a couple months ago but he was on the George Lopez show the other day and it was just as funny as the first time I saw it. holy crap its funny so if you haven't watched it yet..DO!

well thats all of the ramblings I have to share today. I'm sorry my life revolves around what i see on television..but it can't be helped.

Labor Day Camping Trip

Thursday, October 21, 2010

During Labor Day, (I know, I know, I'm late.) we went up to Bear Lake to camp with Josh's family. It was fun...but also FREEZING!! At night I slept with my head under all our blankets since my nose would freeze if I left it out haha. We went fishing and to that expanse of beach where dogs don't have to be on leashes. I have never seen happier dogs. Faye loves swimming...and Josh loves seeing how far out she'll go. Shes such a trooper...shes a lot shorter than Keisha and Marley, but she would stick it out even when she couldn't touch and they could...for awhile anyway. I think she didn't quite understand how to breathe because she would puff air out of her nose and it looked kinda of course I made her come back in :).

The last day we were there Josh, Kamye and I took out the fishing boat and we actually caught a fish! well I fell asleep for while and when I woke up we had landing in a school of a ton of fish. I'm not gonna lie, he tasted pretty good. or she...its hard to tell with fish.

p.s. can you tell which is Keisha and which is Marley? I got them mixed up a couple times!!

Last week my dad was in town so we went down to Layton to have dinner with him, Kim and Brett, and my grandparents. It was so nice to see everyone since I haven't seen them since June. I'm sorry...I'm a bad sister. I don't have pictures but we went to famous daves so you can imagine all of our grins.

For those of you who don't know...Josh and I have been living in Muscatine Iowa for the summer. The summer is almost over, and we have had a lot of fun days...but mostly boring ones for me. Muscatine isn't nearly as thrilling as it sounds. For one, there is this VERY pungent smell that comes from what people claim to be a timber mill, but I really don't think such a horrible smell can come from that haha. anywhoo.. besides the "Muscatine Musk" there isn't really much more to say about it. My friend Ashley and I have taken trips up to Iowa City or Davenport to have something to do and we got memberships to the YMCA out here. Its actually pretty cool because they have a lot of classes you can take. I recently just started a ZOOMBA class...its aerobic latin dance class. The only day Josh gets off is Sunday so we usually try to find something fun to do on those days. Last week we went to the Amana Colonies. They are part of this society that was founded in the 1700s where the town owned everything and the villagers were assigned living and eating houses. The colonies lasted all the way until the 1930s and now they are a pretty awesome tourist trap. They have these old bakeries and candy, toy, antique and clock shops. It was so quaint and peaceful there. We got some salt water taffy and flavored honey sticks and an AWESOME salt lamp. In case you haven't heard of them, they are blocks of salt that have a light inside. Not only are they really neat looking, but they send out positive ions that react with the negative ions in the air. They are supposed to decrease dust and help with asthma and other health problems. Josh has been wanting one and they are kinda hard to find.

We stopped into a winery too and looked at the process (they had windows into the winery room) and they had models of what the wining process used to be. It was pretty neat. plus we got to sample a crap load of cheese!! I'm not sure if Chipotle cheddar is the classiest cheese, but oh my it was delicious.

yes...those ARE the blues brothers in the winery!! we were excited.

In other news I planted a very very modest some pots. haha I have a couple herbs that died after 3 weeks and a serrano pepper plant. I did plant tomatoes and it got really big but I'm sure it wont give any tomatoes until after we leave so I'm pretty bummed about that. It was only a dollar plant at the farmers market though, so I'm not completely crushed. Here is my first pepper! I was so excited.

We've been doing other fun things to...we went to the casino which was fun...but I lost all the money I played with. I'll leave black jack to josh.

longg time coming!

Since I haven't updated my blog in over 6 months, I thought I'd give a little overview of what we have been up to since then. We went to Josh's parents house for Christmas and we decided to go sledding so I have some cute pictures.

I have some random pictures of the dogs too. we had a little bit of spring does everyone who lives in Utah I'm guessing, so we took the dogs up the canyon a few times and tried to have a picnic even though it was still pretty cold.

This is of Keisha in heat. I didn't want to get her spayed...I mean just look at that face!!! But jokes on me now because we were going to wait until we got to Iowa to have her surgery, but its 300 dollars here!! what a joke!!! Now we have to wait to get back to Logan anyway. anywhoooo...the diapers were a pain in the butt but she looked so funny in them I had to take a couple pictures.

well thats all for now..I have to do laundry but I'm hopefully I will get to updating about Iowa soon.

Josh's Birthday

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

This monday was Josh's birthday. Tammie and I decided it would be fun to surprise him, so they drove up on sunday and I had Josh take the dogs to the park so they could be waiting for him when he got back. We had such a fun time playing the games Josh got for his birthday, and we ate some yummy pizza, chicken wings and, of course, cake. Happy 25th Joshy!!

On Josh's actual birthday we didn't do too much since we had celebrated the night before. We had eggnog french toast and bacon for breakfast. When the family left Josh and I took the dogs for a hike up green canyon. We had wanted to shoot his 22, but target shooting wasn't allowed so we settled for a hike and laughing at the puppies being silly in the snow. (note keisha's frozen beard below) We found a cave so of course we had to climb up into it.

I won!!!

this afternoon something amazing happened. I was just getting home from class and eating a snack when the ups guy dropped off a package for me. I hadn't ordered anything so I was really confused. I opened it and it was Jillian Michaels' (the mean trainer from biggest loser) book and little exercise cards. I remember looking at them online because I had seen her commercial and went to check out her website, but I KNOW that I didn't enter any of my information. So I was panicking that someone had stolen my card and then out of guilt they sent me a gift? I checked my account...nothing. Finally Josh thought of opening the front cover of the book voila! there was a little note that said "congrats on being a self magazine sweepstakes winner!" This was my face when I found out.

Even though it wasn't the best prize, I couldn't believe I actually won something. It was great. After I read the card I remembered entering last June when I started the self challenge...that I never completed. It was a sweepstakes where you could win a ton of different prizes and you pick your top five that you would like to win. My strategy was to pick ones that I thought I actually had a chance at winning (not like the second honeymoon to Greece). Jokes on you sweepstakes losers! My strategy paid off!! I know I know..its only a book. haha

I forgot to put up pictures of camping a couple weeks ago. So here they are!

The day after we got home from the cruise Josh and I drove down to orem to go the the Blink 182 concert. It was great. The lights the used were really neat, and it was so fun to sing along to all there songs from when I was younger. Taking back sunday played before them and they were really good too. We got some pretty cool pictures. At the end of the show travis Barker did this drum solo and they lifted him on this suspended platform and it actually rotated when him parallel to the ground. It was awesome. We ate at dennys with Josh's brothers after the show. and then we got to drive two hours home.
